Problem: Exit interviews, employee satisfaction surveys, and informal data all indicate that employees want to see more connection between the strategic goal of being an inclusive workplace and the daily working environment. Part of the company's hiring and retention plan includes shifting corporate culture toward a more inclusive environment that is responsive to our employees lives and needs.
Solution: This course was designed to give employees who lead and plan meetings easy to implement strategies to make meetings more inclusive. Meetings are an integral part of the workday and thus are a solid place to start making cultural shifts toward inclusivity. This has the dual benefit of allowing us to retain our current workforce while also making us more attractive to prospective employees.

Problem: HR has been receiving complaints that some departments are sending out Word documents that are not accessible. As a result, some of the recipients of these documents cannot read them. They have to either depend on their colleagues to relay the information, or they have to send the documents to HR for remediation. Both strategies result in significant lost time, particularly when the documents pertain to or contain time-sensitive information. Staff members work in different shifts and are distributed across three different company building.
Solution: Set up a short training detailing general accessibility standards in digital documents and focusing on Microsoft Word, one of the most commonly-used programs. This will be followed by other trainings focusing on creating accessible emails, PowerPoints, Excel Spreadsheets, and PDFs.
