About Me
Hello!
My name is Marilea Bramer (she/her), Ph.D. I am an instructional designer, trainer, and leader. I create engaging learning solutions that use connection and humor to drive lasting organizational change.
I have over 15 years of experience using adult learning theory to design, develop, and deliver trainings to a variety of audiences. I design, develop, and deliver engaging learning solutions in all learning modalities to drive growth and change (with humor, whenever possible).
As a lifelong learner, I'm always looking for the best ways to present information and to make learning an engaging process. Learners learn best when they are connected to the material and understand how it will benefit them. Leaders and employees are willing to take risks when they are psychologically secure. When we create the right circumstances for learning and for change, the results are often beyond our wildest dreams.
My Design Process
The design and development process starts with building trust and relationships. Before any content can be designed, I work to build relationships with my subject matter experts (SMEs) and project leads.
I use ADDIE or SAM in my eLearning design and development process. I start with a needs analysis and defining the exact goal of the training. I consider which modality best fits the goals of the training and the needs of my clients. I consult with SMEs and project leads to determine learning objectives and the content the learners need. Then, I create a design document with an outline of the training. This is followed by a storyboard of the training, including scenario-based learning and other active learning exercises. Once that is approved, I move into development. Throughout this process, there are many checks to make sure I'm designing and developing a training that aligns with your goals, gives your learners what they need, and keeps your organization moving forward.
